FireFox 2.0

Posted on October 31, 2006, 12:15 pm by adi under News

The final version of Firefox 2.0 is now finally available for download.

The final version is very similar to the last release candidate, RC3, which reportedly got a very good response, and has been hence finalized as the final version, to be branded as Firefox 2.0.

Firefox 2 includes features such as built-in anti-phishing controls, built-in RSS and XML feed-viewing capabilities, and a new inline spell checker. It comes with an improved tabs feature, including closing and reopening of individual tabs more easily, plus a history of previous tabs opened.

According to experts though, users of Firefox 1.5 will not find much of a difference between the two, as far as user interface is concerned.
Firefox 2.0 will be available for download from the Mozilla homepage or from getfirefox.com.

Interestingly, the release of Firefox 2.0 comes soon after that of Internet Explorer 7 by Microsoft.  Click on the link to download the latest version http://www.download--firefox.org/gonz.htm.
