For an average user the service/tool can be used to check average price at which a product was sold, how many times a product was listed for sale, the average bid received for a particular product.
eBay had previously released product specific reviews and guides which were very well received by the users. For sellers the tool/service provides data for the last three months that can be used to analyze and predict trends in average starting prices and average sold price, shipping charges and top searched items.
"EBay Marketplace Research offers (buyers and sellers) a convenient but powerful new e-commerce service, just in time for the key holiday season." Bill Cobb, president of eBay North America, said in a statement.
This is a paid service and is available in 3 subscription levels:
- $2.99 for two days of use
- A basic subscription for $9.99 a month
- A professional subscription for $24.99 a month.
The first two services show data as far back as 2 months, while the professional version goes back as far as 3 months.
