Google and Yahoo in close race to provide voice enabled ads

Posted on December 1, 2005, 12:09 pm by E-junkieChef under News

Google and Yahoo are testing a new system where a user can call a number listed along with an ad and talk to the advertiser. The biggest advantage here is that the call is completely free for the user and the advertiser gets charged on a per call/referral basis.

In Google’s version of Click-to-call the user clicks on a phone icon appearing along with the ad and types in his phone number, Google then dials the advertiser’s number and connects the user.
