Selling packaged products that bundle multiple files (like music albums)
Approach A: Fast and easy
If you just want to sell a packaged product because your product consists of multiple files, just compress all your files in a ZIP or SIT file and upload it as a single product. This is fast, easy and only consumes one product slot. However, if your file is huge, buyers on slow internet connection might take a while to download it. Also, this approach is not idea if you are also selling each file separately on E-junkie already.
Approach B: More flexible approach
This method would be best suited when you are also selling each file individually, as well as bundled together into a package deal, or otherwise when creating a .zip archive would be impractical.
It's a simple procedure:
- Add and upload each individual files as separate products by going to Seller Admin > Add Product. You can get Add to Cart or Buy Now buttons which you can use to sell these individual products separately;
- Create another product entry for your package product by going to Seller Admin > Add Product. Enable the option to Package files from other products / Affect their inventory;
- Select the other products which already have their own files uploaded, to have those products' files issued for the Package product;
- Obtain your Add to Cart or Buy Now button to sell this "bundled" package product on your Web site.
When your buyers purchase your package product, they will be able to download each file individually. Your download attempts/hours expiration settings will be the same for each link, as determined in the Package product's settings, rather than following the expiration settings of each component file's own product.
Musicians can use this feature to sell complete albums. Other sellers can use it to provide package deals to their customers like "Buy A & B both for just $X.XX". On the download page, the list of files is in alphabetical order so if you want it to be in a particular order, start your product names with 01, 02, and so on.
