How to set flat-rate shipping that varies for different products

If you want to charge the same flat rate shipping per item regardless of the specific product(s) purchased, you can simply create Shipping Rules that apply the Price per unit calculation method; however, if you want to set a different flat rate for different products, follow the directions below.

Go to Seller Admin > View/Edit/Delete Products:
  1. Select an existing shippable product of yours and click View/Edit Product;
  2. Tick the box for Shipping & Buyer's Address;
  3. This will reveal a section for shipping options:
    • Weight: set this as equal to the flat-rate you will charge to ship each unit of this product -- e.g., if you will charge $5.00 per unit, enter 5.00 here.
    • Package Type & Capacity will not matter in this scenario.
  4. Submit the new settings;
  5. Repeat these steps for all your tangible goods;
  6. When adding new tangible products, remember to enable Shipping & Buyer's Address and repeat the steps above.
Go to Seller Admin > Cart Shipping Settings and set up the following:
  1. Shipping Origin: select your country (and enter your ZIP code if you're in the US);
  2. Limit Shipping Destinations: tick this box if you will only ship to certain countries, then select them in the list that appears;
  3. Leave all other settings blank or 0.00;
  4. Click Apply to save changes.

In the Your Shipping Rules menu, select and Delete any Rules you may have saved there.

Set up your first Shipping Rule for Domestic shipping:
  1. Calculation Method: Rate per weight unit;
  2. Shipping Amount: 1.00;
  3. Destination Country: Select your country;
  4. Leave all other Min./Max. settings blank or 0;
  5. Click Add Rule to save the Rule.
If you will ship Internationally at a different rate:
  1. Calculation Method: Rate per weight unit;
  2. Shipping Amount: Enter a multiplier to be applied to your Domestic per-unit flat-rates -- e.g., if Int'l shipping will be double your Domestic rate, enter 2.00 here;
  3. Destination Country: All Countries (this covers the rest of your Shipping Destination countries that don't have a Rule of their own);
  4. Leave all other Min./Max. settings blank or 0;
  5. Click Add Rule to save the Rule.
If you will ship to nearby/selected countries at a different rate:
  1. Calculation Method: Price per weight unit;
  2. Shipping Amount: Enter a multiplier to be applied to your Domestic per-unit flat-rates -- e.g., if shipping to this country will be 50% more than your Domestic rate, enter 1.50 here;
  3. Destination Country: Select a country (this will override your Rule for All Countries when the buyer selects this country in their cart);
  4. Leave all other Min./Max. settings blank or 0;
  5. Click Add Rule to save the Rule;
  6. Repeat this section for each other country that isn't covered by your rates for Domestic nor International (All Countries) destinations.
