Collage Basics with Vintage Paper was created after I received multiple requests for an online collage course about the basics of composition and paper collage.

You may be a painter, fabric artist, scrapbook-er or brand-new to art...if you'd like to learn about vintage collage, this course is for you. If you've ever tried to fit components into a pleasing design and been frustrated with the results, or if you find yourself 'adding one more piece' in an effort to balance a design, let me show you an easier way.

Composition is possible to learn - even online! There really are guidelines that will help you work with placement, size, colors, and all of the little details that go into a pleasing composition. Learning those basics will help you in any art you might create, from fabrics to photography.

You'll learn the fundamentals of collage and composition in Collage Basics with Vintage Paper. I'll share basic techniques and tools for use in any paper art, as well as ideas about working with and collecting vintage papers.

Like all of my courses, you'll receive a generous collection of vintage images, backgrounds and patterned papers, ready to print and use. There's no need to already own vintage supplies, and you'll have access to every image and paper I use in the class examples - you can follow along exactly as I create, or use the images in your own way.

SUPPLIES
The supplies are easy to source out: things like rubber stamps and ink, acrylic paints, scissors, glue - the basics! A full supply list will be available on the blog site before the class starts.

CLASS FORMAT

Collage Basics, with Vintage Paper was designed for beginnners. The course is presented on an easily accessed blog and all of the content is broken up into short, downloadable PDF documents. There are no videos to watch or large images to download. Some artists take my courses with just dial-up internet connections.

To be successful in the course you should have basic computer skills, including the ability to download the documents and images in PDF format. Since there are so many available, this class does not cover specific instructions on particular software programs, printers or computers.

The course is divided into 12 lessons over 4 weeks. The first lesson will post on Sunday, November 7th. You can join at any time and there's no need to stay 'caught up'; the material is available to access on your schedule.

The class blog will stay open indefinitely, there is no close date.
