At Tzandals, our mission is three-fold.
First, we support sustainable economic development in Africa by opening up the local Tanzanian economy to the world market. Also, we donate our proceeds to charities that work in Tanzania to see economic development through training projects and micro-loans.
Second, we help clean the earth selling sandals made from recycled tire waste. Tire waste is one of the biggest space hogs at our landfills, and is often burned in developing countries! Also, the stagnant water inside used tires provides a perfect place for malaria spreading mosquitoes to breed. On the good side, tire waste is easy to acquire and very cheap, meaning that more of your money is going to those who produce the tires!
