Slow Website

My website has slowed down tremendously on loading up in my browser ever since the addition of the "add to cart" and "view cart" buttons. What previously took 1-5 seconds now takes 10-30 seconds. Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done to speed it up?

That does not sound normal. You can try changing the box.js include from https:// to http://.
Also, ensure that you are not repeating the box.js line multiple times on the same page.

I'm having this same problem. I tried changing from https to http but that didnt help. I deleted all but one instance of the box.js line but that made the buttons not work.

If buttons are not working, that means that while removing the lines you somehow broke the VIEW CART button code.

Just remove all view cart button code from your webpage, copy the code from E-junkie admin and paste it once.

I am sure you already have the answer to this by now since its 6 months old, but I thought I'd add this for the benefit of people who face this problem in the future, as I did today.

I too removed the https and that increased the speed a little but not enough. In the end I moved the box.js line to the bottom of the page. This means your entire web page will load before it attempts to download the box.js line and the user can be happily reading your web page while the box.js loads in the background. Its not perfect buts it a reasonable work around and give the illusion that your page is downloading faster.
