I want to sell a 'Multi-Pass'...so close yet so far!

I am selling video tutorials on my web site.

The idea I had was to be able to sell a 'pass code' that is good for 10 file downloads.

is there any way to achieve this with e-junkie?

I thought of selling it as a gift certificate, but that doesn't work because balances are forfeit afer each transaction.

I thought of selling discount codes but I need the discount code to apply to ten items and ten items only, codes seem only to apply to entire transactions.

Any thoughts?

You could create a Cart Discount good for a flat amount (equivalent to the price of a single download) off the order total, with a Min Order Total of that same amount and a Max Use Count of 10. If you create this discount with a list of Discount Codes, then that will create a series of identical discounts, one for each code, then you could sell one such code to each buyer using our Gift Coupons technique:

Thank you so much :)

This was seriously doing me head in yesterday but your suggestion sounds like it is going to work :)

One thing...

One of the attempts I made yesterday involved creating a list of 1000 discount codes. I am now going to have to remove them

It looks like there is no way to do this except one by one...

This can't possibly be the case that you can bulk create 1000 codes but remove only one at a time... If it is it would be simpler for me to trash my entire e-junkie account and start from scratch.

Is there a way for me to bulk remove the codes I have already created?

I have escalated your request to Development, as they would need to manually manipulate our database to delete all your Cart Discount codes.

Just wanted to let you know that the Multi-pass system works great. Its a really good way to encourage people to buy more than one item and many people are.

Every now and then I get a very enthusiastic customer who wants to use their multipass all at once. Unfortunately E-junkie blocks ISPs after 5 free downloads and keeps them blocked for a 48 hours period. I understand the reasoning behind this - "To prevent abuse we only allow 5 free checkouts from an IP in 48 hours".

I think 5 free checkout in 48 hours is kind of stingy.

Its a shame because its the only flaw in my pricing strategy...

Perhaps in the future e-junkie could consider relaxing that restriction somewhat or - even better - building a multipass option into e-junkie's service. I can say that for me at least its been a great way to encourage repeat business and increase sales.
