We'd like to offer our current customers the ability to refer a friend in exchange for some type of reward, for example, a $10 discount on their next purchase. I've been reviewing your affiliate link structure, but haven't come up with a way to do this yet.

Is there any way possible to do this, or even anything remotely similar with your system? It doesn't have to be exactly as I described, but do you have anything close to this?

Our affiliate system wouldn't really work for a refer-a-friend offer, but you may be able to work something out by creating special discount codes to distribute to your buyers to use for referrals.

For example, you could create one code that a buyer could give to a friend or family member to purchase something at a discount, and another code for the buyer to use themselves. If you wanted to get really complicated you could make all of these discounts unique one-time discounts and use those to track individual referrals but that could be a hassle to maintain.

An easy way would be to just make two $10 discounts that apply to "all cart items" that have different discount codes -- only one of these could be used at a time so you could just distribute them with every order with a note encouraging the buyer to give one of those codes to a friend and to keep the other for themselves. No matter how those codes get used it turns into repeat orders for you.
