I just set up a discount on a new product, and it isn't working! This has never happened to me before. I deleted the discount and recreated it, same thing. It's a flat discount and I use a Buy Now button with a discount box, but the shopping cart doesn't recognize the discount. Is there a glitch going on? I had to change the price of the product, because I just sent out a notice to 6400 people!

Ellen, cart discounts do not work with "buy now" buttons; they only work with "add to cart" buttons.

If you want to use "buy now" buttons, please create an item specific discount code.

I just learned myself that if there is an expiration date, a minimum amount, or maximum download specified, the discount will not work. Set these to 0 and it does. Not sure if this is your particular problem, but thought I'd share in case.

I wish I could limit the discount to the first 100 buyers but not possible :(

You can make a discount for the first 100 buyers by setting the Max Use Count to 100, but this would only work with the cart and cart buttons, not Buy Now buttons which bypass the cart and take buyers directly to instant checkout for just one item at a time. Buy Now buttons can only work with discount codes that take a flat amount off the per-unit price of an item without any other conditions or limitations at all, as explained here:
