ThankYou and Cancelled Pages

Hi,

I used the code for the thank you page and such, but as I do not have any storage space here at E-junkie, I have them on my server, but the code is visible so am unsure that the thank you page will appear correctly.

Can someone take a look see and give me so input?

www.asanctuary.net/coffee/Cancelled.html

Thank you in advance,

You will want to go through a free checkout and test these pages to see if the information comes up correctly. Here is a link to our testing page:

Okay, will do that soon I hope.

Still having problems with building "Add to cart" buttons.
I know there must be a way and I looked at the variants help thing that tells my how to do it, but I can't seem to get more than three choices. For example,

Premium Breakfast Blend, 10oz bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-10oz-WB

Premium Breakfast Blend, 10oz bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-10oz-Grd

Premium Breakfast Blend, 6 x 10oz bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-6x10oz-WB

Premium Breakfast Blend, 6 x 10oz bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-6x10oz-Grd

Premium Breakfast Blend, 5lbs bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-5LB-WB

Premium Breakfast Blend, 5lbs bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-5LB-Grd

{oh, that was another issue. Bags are not an option for packaging : ( }

Hmmm....

In our system, for your Premium Breakfast blend, you will only have two options. The first option is the size(10 oz bag, 6-10 oz bag and 5 pound bag), the second is the grind(whole bean or ground). So you would name the product Premium Breakfast Blend. You would then setup the variant options as size and ground.

I will send a suggestion to our development team to include bags as a packaging type.

E-junkieNinja,

Thank you for your reply and forwarding my concerns to the right people.

As I understand it, I would do the following:

1) create a button with the three options below

Premium Breakfast Blend, 10oz bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-10oz-WB

Premium Breakfast Blend, 6 x 10oz bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-6x10oz-WB

Premium Breakfast Blend, 5lbs bag, Whole Bean
SKU=PPB-5LB-WB

2) create a second button with the three items below

Premium Breakfast Blend, 10oz bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-10oz-Grd

Premium Breakfast Blend, 6 x 10oz bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-6x10oz-Grd

Premium Breakfast Blend, 5lbs bag, Ground
SKU=PPB-5LB-Grd

3) place both the buttons below the item description and all will be good.

However I believe that we will need to wait for the bag packaging option to become available. Now, having been using other programs for years and the releases of updates and new features, usually takes some time. Considering this is a development thing, I am thinking that we are probably a year or so before the bag packaging option is released, with all the other items that are being upgraded, etc, etc.

I want to be clear that I am not being pessimistic, just realistic. I will still be able to use your service for other items, because I have two stores, Your Sanctuary Coffee, and A Sanctuary Gift Shop that isn't online yet.

I will go look to review the type of item listings or packaging options that are available at this time.

Be Well,
Cloud

Actually you will only need 1 button for all of the products you listed above.
Go to Seller Admin>View/Edit/Delete Product, select the product and click Edit. Enable the Variant option and click next. For the first option enter in size, for the second option enter in grind. In the large field below you will enter in your variants. Here are some examples, I do not know what your prices or stock is:
SKU,Price,Ounces,Stock,Option1Value,Option2Value,Option3Value
10oz-whole,10.00,10,50,10 oz,whole,
10oz-ground,13.00,10,50,10 oz,ground,
6-10oz-whole,55.00,60,50,6-10 oz,whole,
6-10oz-whole,60.00,60,50,6-10 oz, ground,
etc

As for the bag option in the packaging type, if you do not mind me asking why are you not able to use the box options? You can use different packaging options for multiple products.

Sorry, I am so dense and not getting or understanding.
I guess I could call it a box instead of a bag.

10oz. (283.5 g) Bag Whole Bean or Ground = $8.99 USD
6 ea. x 10oz. (283.5 g) Bag Whole Bean or Ground = $47.94 USD
5lbs. (2.27 kg) Bag Whole Been = $49.99 USD

Product Name -> Private Reserve

Option 1 Name -> 10oz, 6 x 10oz, 5Lbs Example: Color
Option 2 Name -> Whole Bean, Ground Example: Fabric
Option 3 Name -> Example: Size

Enter the details of each variant in the box below (one on each line) in the following format:
SKU,Price,Ounces,Stock,Option1Value,Option2Value,Option3Value
Example:
GCS,9.00,32,120,Grey,Cotton,Small
BNL,9.50,34,100,Black,Nylon,Large
NOTES:
The number of Option Values you enter below in AT LEAST ONE LINE must be equal to the number Option Names you have entered above.  SKU is the unique code using which you will identify the variant so you should use something which will help you recognize the product easily. SKU should only consist of numbers and alphabets.

PR-10oz-WB
PR-10oz-Grd
PR-6x10oz-WB
PR-6x10oz-Grd
PR-5Lbs-WB
PR-5Lbs-Grd

FOR EXAMPLE
PR-6x10oz-WB = PrivateReserve-6x10oz-WholeBean

Still guessing but willing to learn.

You seem to have only two Options -- amount and grind -- so you'd only give Option 1 Name and Option 2 Name, then leave Option 3 Name blank, and below that leave the Option 3 Value position blank on each Variant's line. For instance, your Variants lines could look like this:

PR-10oz-WB,8.99,10.0,,10oz. bag,Whole bean,
PR-10oz-Grd,8.99,10.0,,10oz. bag,Ground,
PR-6x10oz-WB,47.94,60.0,,6x10oz. bags,Whole bean,
PR-6x10oz-Grd,47.94,60.0,,6x10oz. bags,Ground,
PR-5Lbs-WB,49.99,80.0,,5lb. bag,Whole bean,
PR-5Lbs-Grd,49.99,80.0,,5lb. bag,Ground,

Here I am presuming you will not be using Inventory Control to prevent overselling, so I have skipped over the Stock position on each line.

The name of the packaging type you select in the product's shipping options doesn't affect anything unless you are using cost/weight settings for each shipping package type in Admin > Shipping. The package names don't mean anything; they're just handier to keep track of by names, rather than if we'd called them Container type A, Container type B, etc.

The packaging type and capacity would affect how many separate parcels are calculated, which may affect USPS/UPS live rate lookups (e.g., a shipment with 6 items in one container would be cheaper than sending those 6 items as 6 separate parcels). More info on Shipping calculation is available on this help page:

Thank you for both of you offering continued assistance in this matter.

Tyson, I think I got it. : )

We will not be using inventory control as we are trying to negotiate that our roaster will roast the desired blend and ship directly to the customer with our labeling. If this can be done, our customers will be drinking coffee that us less than two weeks old.
Talk about fresh!!!
Not only that, but our customers can also order custom roasting (this means if they like a particular roast or blend, they can tweak it if they want to by requesting a touch more, or a touch less time in the roaster).

I will look over the shipping stuff that you linked and see if I can get it. We are considering using only one shipper, United States Postal Service, but if it turns out that we can negotiate the above desire, our roaster will be the shipper (hehehe).

Thanks Again,
Cloud

Since you mention adding a roast selection later, just thought I'd mention you can combine "Variants affecting price/weight/stock/SKU" together with "Variations that tell more about the product" (for options that don't affect price/etc.), which would make your Variants configuration much easier to setup and maintain.

For instance, continuing from the examples above, since whole-bean vs. ground doesn't affect the price, we could move that selection to Variations, leaving only Option 1 (for pack size) in Variants, which would then be configured much more simply like so:

PR-10oz,8.99,10.0,,10oz. bag,,
PR-6x10oz,47.94,60.0,,6x10oz. bags,,
PR-5Lbs,49.99,80.0,,5lb. bag,,

Then on the following screen for Variations, you would simply set up the Option 1 there for whole/ground and Option 2 for roast, with a list of buyer-selectable values for each option.

*smoke appears as the cogs begin to turn*

Thank you for your interest in our growth, but I still have to understand the difference between variants and variations.

It will be a couple weeks before we will be able to consider implementation of custom roasts, as we already have our supplier "concerned".

But thanks all the same.

Yours,
Cloud

Each product has these two settings available: "Variations which tell more about the product" and "Variants having individual price/weight/stock/SKU".

Variations just give a way for buyers to specify options like size, color, style, etc. from a menu or even type text into a field. Whatever the buyer specifies for these options will be passed along with their order data, but none of these options can affect the product's price, shipping weight, inventory stock or SKU. Variations are configured in Admin by simply giving a name to each option category (Size, Color, etc.) and then entering a list of buyer-selectable values for each option (or leaving the list blank to offer a text-entry field).

By contrast, Variants give a way for buyers to pick options from a menu that CAN affect the product's price, shipping weight, inventory stock or SKU. This makes things rather trickier to configure in Admin, since you need to define a price, weight, stock, and SKU separately for every possible combination of option values that would affect those settings.

Since Variations and Variants can be combined, we generally suggest setting up Variants only for those options that need to affect the product's price/etc., then any other options for the product can be set up much more easily using Variations.

Tyson,

K, Thanks,

I may be using more of the Variations, IF we open up the Gift Shop.

but I will have to work on this explanation further. for example, what I understand is:

PR-10oz-WB,8.99,10.0,,10oz. bag,Whole bean,

PR-10oz-WB -> That is the SKU I generated
, -> the comma acts as a separator
8.99 -> the price I set
, -> the comma acts as a separator
10 -> size of package
. -> the period is ???
0 -> the number of ounces
, -> the comma acts as a separator
, -> the comma acts as a separator
10oz. bag,Whole bean -> is my description
, -> the comma acts as a separator

The line defining each Variant must specify values in this order:
SKU,Price,Ounces,Stock,Option1Value,Option2Value,Option3Value

Therefore, this example line I provided:
PR-10oz-WB,8.99,10.0,,10oz. bag,Whole bean,

...would break down this way:

PR-10oz-WB (SKU)
, (separator)
8.99 (price)
, (separator)
10.0 (shipping weight in oz.)
, (separator)
(inventory stock position left empty)
, (separator)
10oz. bag (value buyer selects for Option 1)
, (separator)
Whole bean (value buyer selects for Option 2)
, (separator)
(no Option 3, so this value left empty)

Effectively, this is saying, "If the buyer selects the 10 oz. bag and selects Whole Bean, then when they click Add to Cart that will add SKU 'PR-10oz.-WB' to their order with a price of 8.99 and a shipping weight of 10.0 oz."

Cool thanks again.

By the way, having operated a forum, if there is someone that is as dense as me, perhaps you want to copy this dialog or your last post into FAQs er something.

I will (in fact I think I have) bookmark this so I can refer back to it.

Thanks again.
