Greetings, Over the weekend I uploaded my first products and believed that I'd created a discount code for one of them. The intention was for buyers to use the code that I'd sent them to receive a $20 discount, but at no point are they being prompted for the discount. I completed all of the fields in the discount admin screen. What did I do wrong? My "big launch" just went live. See the "Single User License" buttons here: http://excelwithmonarch.com/the-30-days-to-become-a-better-monarch- modeler-training-package Thanks! # POSTED ON: September 27, 2010 @ 06:20 GMT -7 |

It appears your site is using Buy Now buttons, which bypass our shopping cart and take buyers directly to instant checkout for just one item at a time; therefore, buyers have no chance to enter a discount code in their cart before proceeding to checkout. Some types of discount can still work with Buy Now buttons, but you'd need to use a special version of the Buy Now button code; this help page explains more: http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/faq.discounts.buy-now.htm # POSTED ON: September 27, 2010 @ 13:25 GMT -7 |

Thanks! Earlier this morning I did determine that I'd overlooked a critical portion of the instructions, as you've accurately noted. Newbies, I tell you... I checked the option box above the sample code and received the revised code which includes the POST form bit, and was able to quickly integrate that into my home page. I've got some work today to make it look better on the main sales page, but at least now I fully understand the process. BTW, apart from my glaring ineptitude, the sales process is working perfectly, and my PayPal account balance is increasing quite nicely, thanks in no small part to your fine service. Kind regards, Kruncher, who learned something new today. :-) # POSTED ON: September 27, 2010 @ 13:39 GMT -7 |
