Hi,

am selling an ebook. Just released an update and want to inform my buyers with a fresh download link. But all I am offered is sending a newsletter?

ebook is hosted on e-junkie.

What can I do??

You can send Updates for such a product by temporarily disabling those features in the product's settings, then re-enable them if necessary after sending the Updates.

That means that the updated version will NOT HAVE THE WATERMARK AND CAN BE FREELY SHARED...????

Is that correct???

If so, this is a MAJOR downside!

Any ideas??

As explained on our PDF Stamping help page, under the "A Few things to keep in mind" section:

http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/selling-ebooks.htm5. Free download links issued via the Updates function in your Seller Admin cannot issue Stamped files;

However, free links you issue individually via Seller Admin > Send Free Download Link now CAN be stamped. This is because those links are generated via basically the same process that generates links for actual sales, whereas Update links are generated by a different process. That said, I've brought this up with Development to see if we can make this work for Updates too at some point in the (hopefully near) future.

Re-activating/re-sending expired links for a Stamped PDF product is also covered in the "A Few things to keep in mind" section of that help page:

Ordinarily, if you update a product's file and the buyer uses their original, unexpired download link again after that, they would get the latest file you'd uploaded for that product; however, if you enable PDF Stamping, each buyer's original download link will always issue their original Stamped file, even if you re-activate their link;

I.e., if you want to issue links to download a new edition of your file, you must issue each buyer a new link, rather than re-activating their old one.

To view your Buyer Group list for each of your products, log into Seller Admin and then visit this link directly while you're still logged in:

You may want to bookmark that URL, as it's linked in our help page for Updates and Newsletters but not linked in Seller Admin quite yet.
