Customizing Affiliate Link Destination?

I'm curious if there's a way I can customize an affiliate code to direct to a certain page? The default is to link to the main page, and some merchants provide certain products to link to.. but what if I want to link to an article on their blog and get affiliate payments if they buy something after reading the article?

Affiliates cannot determine a custom landing page for their hop links. However, you might contact the merchant and see if they'd be willing to create a dummy product for which they could enable a product-specific hop link that redirects to the article you want.
