And I cannot figure out why. Only the individual products have email confirmation turned "On" and my buyers typically buy only 1 item (i only have 2 products).Any hints where I might fix this?

Are you running Outlook and filtering emails based on a "rule"? Outlook will sometimes make it look like you are receiving duplicate messages when you aren't.Turn off the rule and see what happens.
I'm using Mail.app and yeah I had set a rule for messages from email@example.com; also received a duplicate of the "new reply" to this topic! hahaI've since disabled the rule, we'll see if it continues.
