This help page explains our thank-you emails and how to customize them:
Originally, our service only sent product-specific emails for each purchased item individually, so those email features were retained when we added the Common Thank-you Email feature more recently.
The common email cannot include any item-specific information, as it is not associated with any particular product, so the link we can provide in that email leads to a consolidated thank-you page we generate for all items in the buyer's order, which is the same page the buyer would normally reach after checkout.
If the seller specifies a Common Thank-you Page URL that buyers should be redirected to after checkout, the link provided in the common email would also redirect to that URL. In that case, item-specific links provided in product-specific thank-you emails would be one way to grant buyers access to their download, as product-specific emails can include a link to a thank-you/download page we generate for just that product alone, bypassing the Common Thank-you Page URL.
This gives each seller the flexibility to send a single common email providing general information about the buyer's order, or product-specific emails providing details particular to each item ordered, or any combination thereof.
