How to Sell With E-junkie on Social Networks

Facebook

The simplest approach here would be to obtain the Text Link we provide for an Add to Cart or Buy Now button, then you can paste that link directly into anyplace Facebook allows you to share or post a link. You can obtain that link from your E-junkie Dashboard under Manage Products > Get Purchase Buttons/Links.

That said, buyers might be unsettled by clicking a link on Facebook that takes them directly to a shopping cart or actual checkout, so it's generally better to post a link to your own storefront site, or to a specific product's sales page on your site, where you have placed your E-junkie purchase buttons for buyers to place an order. If you don't have a site of your own, you can use our Product Page purchase links that bring up a ready-made sales page we generate for your item, or even set up an E-junkie Shop listing all your products in our site's Marketplace.

If you'd prefer to create an online sales page in Facebook itself, first you must create a Facebook Page (not just a regular personal Profile) for your product or company. Then you can take one of the following approaches:

Approach A: Set up a Facebook Shop tab

The simplest method is to add a Shop tab to your Facebook Page. When you set up your Shop tab, be sure to select the option to Check Out on Another Website (do not select Check Out on Facebook, which will not work with E-junkie).

Then when you add a product to your Facebook Shop, you will be asked to enter a Checkout URL, where you should paste that product's E-junkie Add to Cart or Buy Now Text Link, which you can copy from your E-junkie Dashboard under Manage Products > Get Purchase Buttons/Links.

For further instructions about managing your Facebook Shop tab and product listings there, please see this Facebook help page.

Approach B: Add a Custom Tab to your Facebook Page

If you're handy with HTML and would like more control over the appearance of your sales page on Facebook, you can add the Facebook App Static HTML: iframe tab to your Facebook Page. This App will add a new tab to your Facebook Page, where you will be able to paste custom HTML such as product photos and your E-junkie Cart or Buy Now button codes. To see an example of this in action, check out the "Selling on Facebook" tab of our own Facebook Page here.

After you install the App to your Facebook Page, move its tab to a more visible spot and give it a better name:
  • Go to your Facebook Page;
  • Click on Settings (upper-right end of the header bar);
  • Click Edit Page;
  • Under the Tabs section, drag the new Welcome tab up to a position you'd prefer;
  • Click the Settings button next to that tab;
  • Click the Edit Settings link there;
  • Enter a Custom Tab Name -- e.g., "Buy Here" or "Shop Now", etc.;
  • Click Save and then OK;
  • Click Save again for the tab settings.

From there, just return to your Facebook Page and click the Custom Tab name you'd entered, where you can add HTML content to that tab for selling your products, including your E-junkie Cart or Buy Now button codes.

Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, etc.

These platforms won't allow you to paste HTML like our standard button codes, but you can at least paste a link, such as the Text Link we provide for an Add to Cart or Buy Now button in your E-junkie Dashboard under Manage Products > Get Purchase Buttons/Links.

That said, putting a direct purcahse link on those platforms might unsettle many buyers, so it would probably be better to just link to a sales page on your own site where you have placed your E-junkie purchase buttons. If you don't have a site of your own or don't wish to paste buttons on your site, you can post product listings to your own E-junkie Shop in our Marketplace and link to that, or use our Product Page links.

On sites that let you paste or edit HTML but don't allow you to paste JavaScript, you can simply use the non-JavaScript version of our button code in your profile on that site. In your E-junkie Dashboard go to Manage Products > Get Purchase Buttons/Links and select your product, then scroll to the bottom and set Javascript: N, then simply copy the modified HTML code we provide there and paste it wherever the site allows HTML.
