How to roll your Stripe API keys
« Return to Stripe Shopping Cart
This guide covers how to "roll" (revoke and replace) the Stripe API encryption keys that your E-junkie account uses to integrate with Stripe checkout. Doing this can be useful if you are seeing a sudden surge of fishy-looking payments in your Stripe account, which may indicate your Stripe API keys have become compromised somehow.
- Log into your Stripe dashboard and stay logged in;
- Visit this link directly to view your Stripe API Keys:
- Under the Standard Keys section, you should see a Publishable Key and a Secret Key listed;
- Click the [...] button to the right of each one and select Roll Key;
- When prompted to select an Expiration for each key, choose Now, then click the Roll API Key button.
This should revoke/block your old Stripe API keys and generate new ones, so you will then need to refresh your E-junkie integration with Stripe, like so:
- Sign into your E-junkie Dashboard;
- Go to Manage Seller Account > Edit Profile;
- Click More Payment Options;
- Under the Accept Credit Cards heading there is a dropdown menu you can click to expand a list of options;
- Select the top menu option I will accept Credit Cards via PayPal Standard to disable your current Stripe integration;
- Click Submit to apply changes;
- Go back into Manage Seller Account > Edit Profile;
- Click More Payment Options;
- Under the Accept Credit Cards heading, click the dropdown menu there;
- Select Stripe in that menu;
- Click the Connect to Stripe link that will appear there;
- Log back into your Stripe account if required;
- Follow the prompts at Stripe to approve the integration;
- When that returns you to your E-junkie Profile settings, click Submit to apply changes.
