Instant Payment Notification (IPN) is how PayPal transmits order details to an external service like ours after a buyer finishes checkout. E-junkie uses IPN to get notified when PayPal completes a buyer's payment, validate that notification as genuine, and receive the buyer's final order details back from PayPal's system, so we can process that order accordingly.
